What is Bioesthetic Dentistry?
Bioesthetic Dentistry is based on natural biologic form and works by arranging the teeth to work together with the alignment of the jaw joints, condyles, jaw bone and facial muscles.
The power of Bioesthetic Dentistry is that its principles and techniques can be universally applied by all dental disciplines to all dental system problems.
For years it was thought that wear and deterioration of adult teeth was part of the aging process and unavoidable. However, the bioesthetic philosophy has proved this notion to be misleading.
Today, Bioesthetic Dentistry provides patients with the best of both worlds, beautiful natural smiles, and healthy teeth that can last a lifetime. It is also a part of improving the health of the entire body.
Dentists know that chewing is a learned activity. However, patients with worn down teeth can develop dysfunctional chewing and biting patterns. Rather than an effective vertical cutting motion for chewing food, they often engage in unhealthy horizontal chewing strokes.
Our office typically involves digital x-rays, examinations of the jaw joints, facial bones, cervical vertebrae, sinuses and airway; digital photographs of the teeth, face and smile; and examining the jaw alignment with special Panadent instruments. We provide 3D Computerized Tomography Imaging to obtain baseline imaging of the head, neck, airway and TMJ. In addition we collaborate with a maxillofacial radiologist specialist for interpretation of the images. This enables us to determine whether the patient’s jaw joints are properly aligned in their sockets and how to correct any “chewing disharmony” that is found. If the teeth are severely crooked, an orthodontist may be consulted.
We will help you select the form of treatment that will restore your oral and physical health, so you can be healthy for a lifetime.
Relief for TMJ symptoms and pain

A medical device is designed and fabricated call a MAGO (splint therapy) to assist in the therapy, healing, diagnosis and stabilization of the jaw joints and condyles.
In some cases when an individual has severely worn teeth, this may exacerbate into a form of sleep disorder or sleep apnea due to the loss of proper support of the airway!
A better solution for sleep apnea and snoring
Sleep apnea is a serious, potentially life-threatening breathing disorder that affects more than 50 million Americans. A person with sleep apnea stops breathing during sleep, often hundreds of times each night. It causes a lack of blood oxygen, resulting in poor quality sleep and daily fatigue. CPAP is generally the standard treatment for sleep apnea, but patients who use it average only 4-5 hours of nightly use—not the recommended 7-8 hours.
Dr. Nguyen treats patients with an alternative to CPAP: a comfortable, custom-fitted oral appliance worn during sleep. This FDA-approved device prevents airway obstruction, minimizing the effects of sleep apnea and snoring. It helps patients to breathe easily and sleep soundly.
